Movement Lawyering Initiative

OneJustice has launched our new Movement Lawyering initiative in partnership with Movement Law Lab, Public Counsel, and Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA)

We kicked off our first two sessions of a series of virtual programs on the framework, theories, and applications of movement lawyering. OneJustice hosted the following session at the beginning of this month: Movement Lawyering for Legal Aid Practitioners on November 1 and Movement Lawyering for Law Students on November 3.

These two workshops laid the groundwork for the winter and spring 2024 sessions, which will bring together legal aid practitioners and law students to explore real world examples of movement lawyering in practice and engage in developing recruitment and growth plans for movement lawyering-based programs.

Our next session on February 15th dives into housing justice campaigns across California, including tenant protections, land use, and unhoused rights. The final session on March 13th will delve deep into the Right to Counsel Movement, learning more about how legal practitioners and law students can make a difference.

These webinars are open to all legal practitioners and law students regardless of whether you have attended our previous workshops!
