Forging a Path to Justice: Reflections on the 2026 California Pro Bono Conference

Oakland, California | 2026 OneJustice California Pro Bono Conference

The California Endowment in Oakland became the epicenter of many vital pro bono conversations. With 160+ pro bono leaders from legal aid organizations, firms, law schools, and corporations, the sector gathered for OneJustice’s 2026 California Pro Bono Conference.

Pro bono is a vital bridge that ensures families stay safe in their homes, survivors find safety from violence, and our neighbors can access vital legal services every day. Pro bono is how we scale justice during difficult times.

Turning Strategy into Action: The 2026 California Pro Bono Conference kicked off by strategizing how to maintain a unified pro bono network.

Conference sessions dove into innovative programs combatting homelessness, strengthening our rapid response networks, using AI and data excellence to bridge the justice gap, overcoming barriers in language justice, and immigration pro bono workshops that shared the tools needed to reach our state’s most marginalized communities.

The Momentum Continues: A big thank you for all who attended the 2026 California Pro Bono Conference. Attendees, speakers, and session leaders leaned in to working better together and expanding the definition of what is possible for our clients every single day.

A special thank you to our friends at Everlaw for welcoming us into their beautiful office for our post-conference reception. This generous hospitality allowed our community to deepen the connections and ideas sparked during the event—partnerships that will ultimately transform the lives of those in need.
