We educate, advocate, and litigate to make child care a civil right. We believe in justice and opportunity for children, families, and child care providers. We make laws work for Black and Brown people, children with disabilities, and those historically discriminated against.
We educate, advocate, and litigate to secure child care for every family, win equitable pay for child care providers and rights for children with disabilities.
1.) Community Education and Outreach
We provide workshops for child care providers, advocates and legal aid attorneys to inform and update them on the law, their rights and children’s rights (including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
To uplift racial justice, we help people understand the racist legal underpinning of child care. We help undo harmful policies and try to build a better future for our child care providers and families of color.
2.) Advocacy
The Child Care Law Center uses our legal expertise and relationships within the community of California’s child care providers and families to advocate for child care reforms, including child care policies, laws, and funding.
We use a number of advocacy strategies to achieve our goals, such as conducting legislative and budget advocacy for fair child care policies and inclusive funding.
3.) Movement Building
The Child Care Law Center does our part to build a movement of child care providers, legislators, and community advocates who are equipped with the knowledge to fight for equity and racial justice in child care.

Child Care Law Center is looking for individuals who are passionate about creating social change. We want individuals who understand the importance of enriching and affordable child care for every child in California. We want leaders who are willing to tap into their connections and educate everyone on the mission of our organization.
Individuals do not have to have previous experience as a board member, only a desire to learn and grow. We are looking for individuals who may have skills in one or more of the following:
