Shiel’s belief in the work at OneJustice relates to an interest in helping provide the legal sector the tools to build equitable and just access to legal aid. He believes in the work that OneJustice does, and working as an organization he hopes to be able to elevate inclusive services through collaboration with the legal sector. As a child of immigrant parents, and someone who had the opportunity to hear from community voices, he wishes to aid in OneJustice’s vision and mission.
While at Santa Clara University majoring in Communication, he had the opportunity to intern for a few different companies. He interned at two different startup companies, one of which focused on changing the online fitness industry landscape and the other was a medical billing company. Both experiences provided him with an understanding of building from the ground up. He also had the chance to intern for the Alumni Association at Santa Clara University, focusing on providing Alumni with excellent experiences and a vast networking community. Finally, he worked on an incredibly important project in a team called the “Asian and Black Alliance”.
