California Rural Justice
Almost 2 million rural Californians face legal barriers to meet the most basic needs, including safety from abuse, safe and stable housing, and access to medical care.
Out of California’s roughly 100 nonprofit legal organizations, only 27 serve rural areas. These rural legal services nonprofits often cover large geographic regions with insufficient resources or attorney staff.
OneJustice builds collaborations to bridge this urban/rural inequity, by connecting urban pro bono resources to these isolated communities and the legal services nonprofits that serve them.
Pro Bono Clinic Toolkits
The COVID-19 pandemic changed how the legal aid community reaches community members.
By working with legal services organizations across California to create and launch virtual clinics, OneJustice has developed the Pro Bono Clinic Management Toolkit and our Remote Clinic Toolkit.
OneJustice’s toolkits have been used to address the legal needs of hundreds of low-income Californians.
