Consumer Protection Project
OneJustice expands the impact of consumer debt legal services and promotes consumers’ long-term economic health and stability. We assist Legal Services Organizations (LSOs) launch new projects or expand the availability of legal services to low-income California consumers. On behalf of low-income communities, we engage in broad-scale advocacy on consumer law issues to maximize the sector’s impact.
Maximizing Immigration Impact
OneJustice's Maximizing Impact Project is a free 6-month training program dedicated to providing space for leaders of immigration legal services organizations throughout California to explore how to most strategically deploy their limited resources while balancing sustainability and impact. With a focus on peer learning and discussion, participants will receive support in: (1) using data to guide their decision-making, (2) implementing the most promising and effective practices, and (3) tailoring their services to meet community and staffing needs.
HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION
Legal aid programs and other community-based organizations serve as first responders to many low-income tenants who are at risk of homelessness as well as clients who already had to leave their homes. OneJustice’s Homelessness Prevention Program is allowing legal aid programs and other organizations to better serve their clients who are facing these issues.
Board Leadership
A strong governance board is vital to ensuring a legal aid nonprofit's success. OneJustice offers advanced best practices and tools for new and serving board members through our Board Leadership Training Program. Using OneJustice's Board Portal, legal aid leaders can advertise their open board positions and interested board candidates can find the legal aid board position that fits them best.
