Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower and advocate for LGBTQIA+ immigrants, ensuring their safety, well-being, and celebrating social belonging, while uplifting TGNCI+ identities, to belong in the United States of America (USA), and to build a community of light, love, and unity. We strive to provide comprehensive and accessible support services, including legal assistance and social integration, while promoting awareness, education, and acceptance.

Values:

The Center for Immigrant Protection (CIP) is the home to Parivar Bay Area (PBA) and The LGBT Asylum Project (LGBTAP). As CIP, we scale our programs and services with one mission and one voice to ensure both organizations continue to meet the diverse needs of LGBTQIA+ asylum-seekers and immigrants, centering Transgender immigrants of the Global South. We are located in Castro district of San Francisco, CA. Center for Immigrant Protection celebrates is 10th year of serving the community in Nov 2025.

Immigrant Asylee Legal Programs

Affirmative Asylum Services inclusive of case management and dedicated legal representation and support.

Defensive Asylum Services inclusive of case asylum-seeking dedicated legal representation and support. Providing essential legal defense for asylum seekers.

Legal Assistance for Name & Gender Changes beginning with current asylum-seeking clients and immediate immigrant members of community.

Work Authorization Legal and administrative support beginning with current asylum-seeking clients and  immediate immigrant members of community.

   Immigrant Social Integrations

Resettlement Referral services tailored to support successful integration and community building.

Social Initiatives such as activating in-person and virtual engagements, advocacy, and collaborations to build a supportive ecosystem.

Immigrant Symposiums to provide resources and foster empowerment for LGBTQIA+ asylees and immigrants.

Leadership Development Program to empower immigrants with civic engagement, entrepreneurial guidance, and workplace readiness training.

We are seeking board leaders who are passionate about social justice and are committed to protecting immigrants and asylees during these critical times. Ideal candidates are strategic thinkers with a proven track record of leadership, advocacy, or community engagement. Your insight and expertise will be invaluable in guiding CIP as we continue to scale our programs and services, ensuring that our impact reaches every corner of our community. Persons With Lived Experience(PWLE) at the intersections of Immigrant & Asylee journeys and LGBTQIA identities and allies are likely to contribute further in this board capacity.
